Manchester United’s Diogo Dalot was on loan at Milan last season and his displays had convinced the Rossoneri to make his stay permanent in the summer.
However, the Serie A side failed to find an agreement with the Red Devils and that saw the 22-year-old stay at Old Trafford.
He has been restricted to six appearances in all competitions this season, which includes only two starts, and the lack of regular minutes has ‘not pleased’ the fullback, which is why he ‘wants to go away’ in the winter market.
That’s according to Il Romanista, who add that AS Roma are looking at the Portugal international.
Dalot joined United during José Mourinho’s final transfer window in Manchester and the current Roma manager has ‘asked’ the Serie A side to sign his former player.
The player’s contract expires in 2023 and the report states the Giallorossi can take him on loan in the winter market. This would cost the Italian club less than €3m.
Dalot could ‘prove to be the right solution’, and should that happen, Il Romanista state they could even plan to redeem him next summer.
It’s said the entire cost of the operation ‘shouldn’t exceed €10m’ [includes loan fee of less than €3m], even if Roma are aware ‘how complex it is to deal with Manchester United’.
