Manchester United fans obviously weren’t very happy with the 4-1 defeat to Liverpool in the preseason friendly at the weekend.

But there was still a positive to take. That was Andreas Pereira, who has recently returned from a loan spell at Valencia, and has had a good performance in the match, scoring the Red Devils’ only goal from a free-kick.

With manager José Mourinho constantly complaining about the lack of signings at the club, the game has proven that Manchester United may have a good midfield addition in case the player stays for the season.

Now Brazilian outlet Globo Esporte brings an interesting exclusive story on Monday, talking about Pereira’s chances to continue playing for the club.

According to the website, the midfielder has had a conversation with José Mourinho and asked the manager if he can stay at Manchester United.

Mourinho’s answer was simple: his decision will depend on how Pereira peforms during the preseason games. It’s up to him.

After a few good performances, Pereira is now eager to finish convincing José Mourinho in the match against Real Madrid, which will be played on Wednesday.

So far he’s probably been the club’s best player in preseason, and Andreas Pereira can’t do much more than that.
