Fenerbahce’s interest for Marcos Rojo continues to be the main topic in the Turkish media as TRT Spor’s Fenerbahce journalist Kenan Pamuk has given an update about the club’s pursuit of the player.

It’s been well documented in the local press that Fenerbahce are looking to sign a centre-back and the Manchester United man seems to fit the profile that Fenerbahce are looking for.

Pamuk explains Rojo remains the first choice for Fenerbahce as the Turkish club hope to convince the player.

The Argentina international had some reservations about moving to Turkey at first but Pamuk claims he’s now ‘looking forward’ to joining the club.

However, both sides are still in talks over personal terms as Pamuk says the player is earning €3.45m/year at Manchester United after tax.

After the arrival of Ali Koc, the Turkish club are more careful financially and it seems they are trying to lower the wages of the player.

Fenerbahce’s highest earner, Max Kruse, is earning €2.5m per season from the club and Fenerbahce could look to drop Rojo’s wages into that bracket.
