Of the Manchester United players who are still playing international games this week, Victor Lindelof is one of those who have a very important match ahead.

Sweden continue to fight for a place in the World Cup. And as they work to get to the top of Group B, they had a big chance to do it in the last international break, when a win over Greece would have been enough to conquer the first position.

They were defeated 2-1 in Athens, missing the chance of passing Spain at the time. Now they play Greece again, this time in Stockholm, and the same chance is on the table.

Local outlet Fotbollskanalen today features a story saying Lindelof and his teammates will now be led by ‘anger’ as they still can’t believe they missed that opportunity the first time.

“I said it to the guys right after the match: ‘Remember this feeling’,” said the Manchester United player.

“We know how annoyed and disappointed we were after that match.”

The fight for the first place in Group B has Spain with 13 points after six games, while Sweden have 12 points with one match less. So taking the lead would mean a lot for Lindelof and his teammates, as there’ll be only two games left.

For Manchester United, Lindelof has seven appearances this season. With Harry Maguire and Raphael Varane doubtful for the match against Leicester City on Saturday, the defender could have another chance to start.

There’ll be fingers crossed at Old Trafford that Lindelof doesn’t go into battle too hard against Greece, they need him back in one piece.
