Manchester United are set to scout River Plate midfielder Enzo Fernandez for a fourth time this evening.
That’s according to TYC Sports, who say United are not planning on taking their eye off of the highly-rated youngster any time soon.
We covered a report earlier today that stated Manchester United were keen on Fernandez and set to scout him this evening in River Plate’s match against Fortaleza.
He’s been excelling for River this season, and that has earned him plenty of admirers in Europe, with United reportedly one of them.
So much so that TYC Sports say they’ve already had the youngster scouted on three separate occasions and have sent ‘emissaries’ to the Monumental for a fourth scouting mission this evening.
That is seen as a clear demonstration of their ‘interest’ in the midfielder, and TYC now say that they have ‘planned to present’ an offer to buy him in June.
That’s when they will have finally secured their new coach, presumably Erik Ten Hag, and thus when transfer business will begin.
When Manchester United would want Fernandez to arrive would have to be determined as River Plate are currently in the middle of their Copa Libertadores campaign and would not want to lose a key player in the midst of that.
At the moment, there is nothing ‘formal’ from United or any of the other suitors, but with the performances he’s been showing, it would not be surprising if a bid ‘arrives at any time’ and a fourth scouting mission from Old Trafford suggests it will they who make it.
