Mexican outlet Los Pleyers today brings a very interesting story on Manchester United’s scouting job in the North American country.
They’ve gathered reports from local journalists which show representatives from the Premier League club were at a match between Monterrey and Necaxa last weekend.
The first claims come from Diego Armando Medina, who was able to get a photograph of two men described as scouts from the English club.
Medina explained the emissaries will have been keeping an eye on two players from Monterrey, although he didn’t say who.

Later, Multimedio Deportes credited Medina for another picture.
This time, the outlet said Manchester United officials were speaking to the agent of Monterrey midfielder Carlos Rodriguez.

Los Pleyers also stated that ‘extra-officially’, it’s been said the other United target was Monterrey midfielder Rodolfo Pizarro.
Following the claims, former footballer Carlos Lopez Silanes was asked on Twitter if it was him in the pictures. He confirmed it, saying he’s been working for the Red Devils.
However, he claims it was just a scouting job, like many others.
“Yes, it’s me @cordobeslopez and yes I work for Manchester United. This weekend I was watching the 2 games in Monterrey. Like all the weekends I am in different matches and stadiums. Regards.”
