On Sunday, Sky Sports News reported that Manchester United were willing to bid for Issa Diop from West Ham, with a fee of £45m + an unnamed player being talked about.

Well, that bid has now been confirmed in France, according to TF1 journalist Julien Maynard, who took to Twitter to reveal that the Hammers had turned down the opportunity to sell the former Toulouse starlet to the Red Devils.

However, this might not be the end of it, as there is a further claim that Diop, who only joined West Ham last summer, wants the move to happen.

Down their end, Manuel Pellegrini and co. would much prefer if the 22-year-old stayed at London Stadium next season, since he was such an instrumental part of the Chilean’s plans during the 2018-19 campaign.

Signed for £22.5m from Toulouse, Diop made 33 league appearances in the league, totalling 38 in all competitions, during which he managed to find the back of the net twice, as well as picking up five yellow cards.
