Today is the last day Inter Milan can use their €35m clause to sign Joao Cancelo on a permanent deal from Valencia, explain Tuttosport.
The right back spent last season on loan at Inter, and a buying clause was agreed in the contract.
Whilst the Italian club like Cancelo, they’re not in a position to pay the money right now so have to see that clause pass by and then hope their financial situation starts to look better as the market grows older.
But further interest in Cancelo creates a problem for Inter, not only does it mean he may be picked up by someone else, but there’s the chance his fee could rise above the €35m figure.
Manchester United are presented as being interested, and Tuttosport say they’d have ‘no problems’ coming up with a fee to please Valencia.
The agent connection between Jorge Mendes and Jose Mourinho could help Manchester United snap up the Gestifute client if they really want to.
But with claims around Diogo Dalot looking pretty strong right now, moving for Cancelo at a big price doesn’t make a lot of sense.
