If Marca’s Friday report on Eder Militao can be believed, then Manchester United need to act very quick if they want to have a chance of signing the Porto defender.
A few days ago we covered a report from Brazil which reiterated United interest, after it had been reported for some time, and also brought Everton and Liverpool into the story.
It was explained that whilst Real Madrid were also keen, the Spanish club had been told Militao prefers a move to English football and the Premier League.
Unsurprisingly, Marca have things very differently.
With a headline saying ‘Operation Militao launched’, the Madrid leaning newspaper state Militao can become a Real Madrid player in the next few days, but that he’d only arrive in the summer transfer window.
Marca say an agreement with the player is ‘close to being a reality’, and Madrid have moved because they didn’t want to miss out after Manchester United and Barcelona both ‘asked’ for the player.
Militao’s clause during this window is said to be €75m, but it’s €50m in the summer, and Madrid would be looking to agree a deal with the player so they can then trigger the lower figure in the next market.
Over to you, Ed Woodward.
