Blaise Matuidi has been linked with Manchester United for some years, more so since Jose Mourinho took over at the Premier League club.

The 31 year old played for PSG from 2011 to 2017, before moving to Juventus in a deal which started out at around €20m but could reach €30m should all the bonus payments be triggered.

Manchester United needed a midfielder and were said to be one of the interested clubs. Calciomercato backs that up on Sunday as it appears that the player’s agent, non other than Mino Raiola, is looking for a contract renewal.

It’s explained that Matuidi is at the peak of his powers at 31 years of age, and ‘everyone has noticed’ his form for both Juventus and the France national team.

There have been ‘potential offers’ recently, with it being stated Manchester United have been ready to sign the player in a flash. It doesn’t appear they were given a lot of encouragement, but with Matuidi’s contract ending in June 2020, Raiola knows he has some leverage ahead of the summer.
