Similarly to what feels like half the Manchester United squad, Ander Herrera’s contract at Old Trafford runs out in the summer.

Yet to extend his deal beyond this campaign, the 29-year-old will be free to talk to any clubs outside of England come January 1st, and a few are biding their time patiently.

Among those are Inter Milan, according to Corriere dello Sport, who are on the lookout for a good deal for next season, which the twice capped Spain international represents.

Herrera is one of two major targets for the Serie A side, with the other being his Mexican namesake, Hector, however, Corriere explain the Manchester United one is ‘probably liked more’ than the Porto midfielder, as he fits what Luciano Spalletti is looking for.

The Red Devils’ man has only played a bit-part role at Old Trafford so far this season, making just eight appearances in all competitions, and a move away on a free come the end of the season certainly looks a distinct possibility.

Among the other teams interested are very likely to be his former club Athletic Bilbao, who allegedly ‘contacted him’ about a future deal over the summer.
