While not always a regular under Louis Van Gaal, Ander Herrera has certainly made one of Manchester United’s midfield positions his own under José Mourinho this season.

Now a regular for Spain, the 27-year-old midfielder has been giving a few interviews here and there while on international duty, mostly talking about David De Gea’s future, which is a big topic of conversation in Spain at the moment.

However, Radio Marca, while also wanting to know about the Spanish goalkeeper’s situation, also decided to broaden the conversation, by asking what it was like playing in the same club as Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Herrera replied: “He’s a genius, although he can get a bit annoying because he wants to win at everything, even at football tennis. He always assumes what he does or tells the media, he doesn’t care.

“He’s so good, that he can do it. He can say he’s going to score 30 goals or that he’s the best because he can get away with it. I, on the other hand, cannot.”

Moving to Manchester United to prove to everyone he could do it in the Premier League, despite being 35, the Swedish legend has scored 26 goals in 41 appearances.

Another summer arrival who has created a bit of a stir is Paul Pogba, who Ander Herrera was quick to defend from the recent criticism thrown his way.

We’ve included the image of Pogba during his first Manchester United spell elbowing Herrera, then at Athletic Club Bilbao, as a treat.

He said: “If you compare what he’s done with his price, he comes out losing, just like everyone else bar Cristiano and Messi, but he has six or seven goals and I don’t know how many assists. He brings a lot to the team. However, I’ll never copy his hairstyles, it’s not for me.”

What? You mean we won’t see Ander Herrera with “DAB” shaved into the side of his head?
