Many claims from the Portuguese media this week have been saying that agent Miguel Pinho is in Manchester.
The first reason for the visit would be to spend some time with his client Bruno Fernandes. That’s why newspapers such as Record say the representative was at Old Trafford last night and saw the Red Devils’ 1-1 draw against Fulham.
The second motive, which is getting most of the attention from the Portuguese press, is the transfer of Sporting fullback Nuno Mendes, who Manchester United are thought to be keen on this summer.
Now, according to Record, there’s also a third reason for the trip, and that’s a new contract for Bruno Fernandes.
The newspaper says the ‘review’ of the midfielder’s contract is one of the subjects that will be ‘approached’ by Miguel Pinho in his meeting with the Red Devils. It’s claimed that due to the player’s form this season, Manchester United’s board are willing to ‘reward’ him.
When moving to Old Trafford in a €55m move from Sporting in January 2020, Fernandes signed a five-year contract with the club. He currently has 40 goals and 25 assists in 79 appearances for the Reds, and could soon be signing his first contract extension.
