Gremio’s Arthur has been the subject of a mix of European transfer rumours over the past few weeks, none of them feeling especially concrete.
Carrying on that theme is a snippet from Mundo Deportivo in their Saturday edition. The Catalan newspaper say Gremio are thinking of around €30m for the 21 year old, which is handy because that’s also what Mundo Deportivo expect someone to offer.
Manchester United are one of a number of clubs said to have ‘maximum interest’ in the attacking midfielder, with offers expected to be tabled.
Arthur is ‘on the lists’ of Europe’s major clubs already, according to the claims, but once again it all sounds quite vague.A fee of €30m sounds a lot for a player still in Brazil, and Gremio may settle for less. This could be part of a process which sees the player’s profile in Europe, right now not very big, raised through transfer stories in the hope of a better fee for Gremio.
Manchester United are often used in such plans.
