For the past few weeks, the Catalan media have frequently discussed Barcelona interest in Manchester United’s Diogo Dalot.
On October 11th, Sport reported the La Liga club have made a lot of progress to sign the right-back.
Xavi Hernández’s side wanting the 23-year-old is mentioned again in today’s edition of Sport. Dalot gets tagged in a report that looks at the players Barca want to sign.
The Blaugrana have several options for the right-back position but their ‘priority target’ is the Manchester United player.
Barcelona believe the Portugal international’s age, profile, performances and his contract situation make him a ‘great market opportunity’. His current deal runs down at the end of this season and the Red Devils retain an option to extend it until 2024.
Dalot has made 12 starts in all competitions this season and has become an ‘important’ player for Erik ten Hag. This and the duration left on his contract have not put off the Spanish giants.
Sport explain Barca would be ‘willing to pay’ to sign Dalot, mainly because of his age and progression, both with club and country.
The newspaper does not mention Manchester United’s stance on a potential transfer.
