Portuguese giants Porto have reportedly said no to recent approaches they had for defender Eder Militão, according to claims today.
Newspaper A Bola reports that Manchester United and Real Madrid have both contacted the Dragons in the past few days, but heard that they are not interested in selling the player in January.
That’s why the story’s headline mentions the €50m price, which is the defender’s release clause that would have to be triggered for a winter move.
Regarding Manchester United’s interest in the player, A Bola makes it clear that Militão was a target of José Mourinho. So with the Portuguese manager now leaving the club, it’s unclear if the Red Devils would keep following him.
Porto paid only €4m to sign Militão from São Paulo in the summer, and have been pretty impressed with how quickly the defender adapted to European football.Although he had been playing as a right-back for the Brazilian side, Militão is now an unquestionable centre-back at the Dragons, and it will be hard to convince them to let him go.
