According to Haber Global’s Fenerbahce journalist Yagiz Sabuncuoglu, scouts from Manchester United and Liverpool recently watched Fenerbahce goalkeeper Berke Ozer.
Sabuncuoglu claims Liverpool and Manchester United scouts watched the U21 derby game between Fenerbahce and Galatasaray last weekend and that they were keeping a close eye on Fenerbahce’s young goalkeeper.
It’s unlikely Liverpool or Manchester United would be looking to bring the youngster keeper into their senior squads as he continues with his progression.
Ozer, who joined Fenerbahce from his boyhood club Altinordu for €2.5m at the end of last season, is regarded as one of the best prospects in Turkish football.
The 18-year old goalkeeper was been strongly linked with a move to Manchester City but Fenerbahce managed to snap him up during the last summer transfer window.
Ozer has only made one appearance for Fenerbahce’s senior team this season, but he’s a regular for the Turkish youth national teams.
He came through Altinordu’s academy who have recently produced players like Cengiz Under and Leicester City’s Caglar Soyuncu.
Ozer is under contract at Fenerbahce until June 2022.
