In need of a new winger for next season, Manchester United have a bunch of options to choose from in Europe, and it’s all about choosing the right one that will fit best with how Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants to play next season.
The likes of Nicolas Pepe and Hirving Lozano are fan favourites for the role, but another option would be the Mexican’s teammate, Steven Bergwijn.
The Red Devils have been linked in the past, and there’s no denying the Dutchman would fit the quick paced attacking style the Norwegian is trying to re-instil at Old Trafford.
However, they aren’t the only ones interested, as Inter have also cast their eye on the PSV forward, needing to bolster their wing play in the summer, especially if they let either of Baldé Keita or Ivan Perisic go.
Manchester United are mentioned as competition by Corriere dello Sport in their article on the subject on Tuesday, and the price tag is set at €30m minimum.
Aware of the interest in their players, PSV will undoubtedly want to get as much as possible for Lozano (Napoli are also keen) and Bergwijn in the summer, and if it solely comes down to money, the Red Devils should walk away with it.
What could swing matters in Inter’s favour, however, is Champions League football, as Luciano Spalletti’s side currently sit 3rd in Serie A, ready to qualify straight into the competition’s group stages.
Bergwijn has scored 12 goals and assisted teammates 12 times in 28 league appearances, splitting his time on either wing for the Dutch side.
