Ryan Giggs today made his debut on the futsal pitch (or is a court?) in India. The Manchester United legend recently left Old Trafford after working under Louis van Gaal as assistant manager.
Giggs retired from playing football for Manchester United in 2015 but has came out of retirement to participate in Premier Futsal.
Ryan Giggs’ new club Mumbai took on Chennai in the inaugural game of Premier Futsal in India.
Giggs also won the ‘Best skill of the match’ award as he produced a sublime nutmeg, added to be a few no-look passes.
The crowd in Chennai cheered every time the Manchester United legend received the ball, and it’s been a great opportunity for fans in India to see such a player.
Paul Scholes, Ronaldinho, Michel Salgado, and Hernan Crespo are also participating in the tournament, added to with some of the best professional futsal players.
Portuguese legend Luis Figo is the President of the league, and was in Chennai today for the inaugural match.
Hernan Crespo’s Kolkata beat Ronaldinho’s Goa 4-2 in the second match of the day.
