If Manchester United’s first-team recruitment has perhaps been underwhelming at times, you can’t fault their scouting team’s work ethic when it comes to sub 18-year-olds.

It seems the Red Devils are linked with a 15/16-year old most weeks, and early January is no different, already very close to signing a youth product at Villarreal.

Over in France, L’Equipe believe Manchester United are after a goalkeeper this time, battling Manchester City for the signing of Jules Raux.

Signed to Lille’s youth team for the current campaign, the 15-year-old is said to be ‘thinking about his future’, as he’ll be free to choose a new club at the end of the season.

L’Equipe explain the shot stopper is currently on trial with Anderlecht, having already been to Carrington for a week long one with Manchester United back in September.

The Red Devils are said to be ‘keeping an eye on him’, as are their rivals Manchester City, alongside other big clubs like Paris Saint-Germain and Borussia Dortmund.
