On August 6th, we carried a report from AS, who stated Red Bull Salzburg star Benjamin Šeško ‘already knows the official interest’ of Manchester United to secure his services.
It was also explained the striker will make a decision on whether to leave the Austrian champions in the coming days.
Manchester United’s interest in the 19-year-old is discussed by Sky Sport Austria, who also provide the star’s stance on changing clubs this summer.
Sky reporter Marko Stankovic states the Slovenia international wants to stay at club for one more season and then make a jump elsewhere like Erling Haaland did when he joined Borussia Dortmund in January 2020.
Red Bull Salzburg sporting director Christoph Freund has also ruled out Šeško’s exit this summer.
Slovenia’s Sportklub state Šeško has not yet made a decision on his future, and has an ‘offer on the table’ from Manchester United.
They state the frontman will make a decision in the next few days and is leaning towards accepting one of the offers he has on the table. That doesn’t mean he will leave Salzburg, meaning he could rejoin them on a loan deal, after agreeing to join another club.
With regards to Sky’s claim, Sportklub state this information has come from the Austrian club, who continue to insist the player is not for sale. They are putting pressure on him, while at the same time trying to raise his asking price. Red Bull Salzburg are of the belief they can earn more through his sale next summer.
It’s suggested Šeško has offers from the Red Devils, Chelsea, Real Madrid, RB Leipzig and a few other clubs. He is now leaning towards accepting one of them. Once this is done, the club he has agreed to sign for will then start negotiating with Salzburg.
