Inter Milan goalkeeper André Onana’s agent made a trip to Manchester to hold talks with Manchester United over a potential deal.
Gazzetta dello Sport state talks between the agent and the Red Devils are an indication the deal to take the 27-year-old to Old Trafford could take shape. ‘There are no more doubts’ that Onana is the one ‘chosen by Erik ten Hag’.
It’s claimed Manchester United have ‘intensified’ their efforts to sign the stopper in this window.
Gazzetta say the Serie A side need €50m plus bonuses to sell Onana. The Red Devils are willing to pay this fee and the operation, ‘in all likelihood’, could be closed ‘next week’.
The report adds the former Ajax man has ‘never been so close to leaving’ Inter, which is also another indication he’s set to change clubs in this window.
Over at Corriere dello Sport, they state Inter have requested €60m and won’t drop their demands below €50m for the Cameroonian.
Meanwhile, Manchester United are waiting to sort out David Ge Gea’s future before making an approach for Onana.
Corriere add Ten Hag, behind the scenes, is ‘pushing’ the Premier League side to sign his former player.
More developments are expected on this case in the next few days.
