Manchester United are among the clubs ‘at the window’ for Lazio’s Sergej Milinković-Savić, according to TuttoMercatoWeb.
It’s claimed ‘the time has come’ for the midfielder to change clubs. ‘There are no doubts about this’ as the Italian club have ‘resigned themselves’ of losing their star in the next window.
The question remains as to where the 27-year-old will move next in the summer, with Juventus and Inter Milan are named as possible options in Italy alongside Manchester United elsewhere.
Juve have long had their sights on the Serbia international and have a ‘strong liking’ for him. Meanwhile, Simone Inzaghi would gladly work again with his former player.
The price tag makes it difficult for either of them to make an approach for the ex-Genk man, and Lazio chairman Claudio Lotito doesn’t intend to give any discounts to other Serie A sides.
TMW state ‘only two clubs have actually moved’ with Lazio and the Serbia international’s agent, Mateja Kežman, and they are Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain, both in the ‘front row’ to sign the player.
However, the website warns that Juve ‘should not be underestimated’ in the chase for Milinković-Savić.
Meanwhile, Il Messaggero, relayed by TMW, explain the Serbian ‘flirts’ with the Old Lady as his desire is to join Juventus.
Lotito ‘would like to sell him, but to either Manchester United or PSG, and that’s because Massimiliano Allegri’ side are willing to offer only €45-50m, while Lazio’s ‘minimum request’ is €80m.
That’s a fee seemingly out of reach for the Italians, but certainly not for the other two, who could have cash to burn this summer to please new managers.
