Espanyol’s Raúl de Tomás is one of the options for Manchester United to strengthen their attack this season.
That’s according to COPE journalist Pedro Morata, who made this claim to El Partidazo de COPE.
Morata explains the striker is in the orbit of Manchester United and the ‘negotiations are open’ between the two parties.
Espanyol managed a 2-2 draw against Celta Vigo in the league tie at the weekend and the Spain international was not part of the squad.
De Tomás is represented by the same agency that manages Luke Shaw, Anthony Elanga, Tahith Chong and Dean Henderson. According to the report, the frontman’s agents have offered him to Manchester United.
COPE state there is interest from the Red Devils in the Espanyol star, but he isn’t the only player the Premier League side are looking at.
In the event United’s interest in the 27-year-old advances into an offer, the transfer could be closed for a fee between €25m and €30m.
Erik ten Hag has stressed he wants a new attacker this summer. If Manchester United are ready to satisfy their manager, then it needs to be seen whether they will look to sign De Tomás or someone else.
