This morning, we’ve seen a strong report from Portuguese newspaper A Bola regarding Manchester United’s interest in the signing of Porto midfielder Vitinha.
It was claimed the Red Devils are ‘positioned’ to trigger the player’s €40m release clause, and currently stand out as serious candidates to take him out of the Dragons this summer.
It turns out that A Bola isn’t the only Portuguese newspaper highlighting Manchester United’s hunt for Vitinha today, as Jornal de Notícias comes up with an interesting story as well.
They claim that the Red Devils are currently ‘at the forefront’ of the race for the signing, even though they’re still to make a bid for the 22-year-old.
It’s said the Old Trafford side ‘lead’ the competition as they look for replacements for Paul Pogba and Nemanja Matic, who left the club at the end of their contracts this summer.
There’s a well defined price to take Vitinha out of Porto this summer, and that’s of €40m, which is his release clause.
In case no one triggers it, there’s even a chance he ends up signing a new contract with the Dragons.
