As we know, Manchester United are in dire need of a right winger.

First there was Jadon Sancho, who costs a lot of money, but no offer deemed good enough by Borussia Dortmund was made.

Then there was Ousmane Dembélé, who looked like he would sign, but now there are doubts as to whether or not that move will take place.

After that, there was news Manchester United would be moving for both Facundo Pellistri at Peñarol and Amad Traoré from Atalanta.

The former costs $10m and the latter is expected to cost somewhere between €30-40m depending on who you believe.

Either way, neither solve the gaping hole in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s squad, which is why Ed Woodward and co. are now ‘charging’ for Watford’s Ismaïla Sarr.

Once said to be close to Liverpool, the Senegalese forward is still at Vicarage Road for the time being, but Téléfoot Chaîne’s Saber Desfarges is now claiming the Red Devils have made a first offer for the player.

That is one of a loan with a view to buy at £45m, which has been swiftly turned down by the Hornets.

According to the same tweet, it’s said those in charge at Watford would want a clause inserted in the deal meaning they would be paid £25m if Manchester United didn’t trigger the option.

This means that should Sarr move to Old Trafford but not impress enough and return, the Hornets would still be £25m richer than they were before.

That doesn’t appear to have been accepted by Manchester United, as Desfarges explains ‘talks are ongoing’.
