Around this time last week, we covered a story from TuttoMercatoWeb about Manchester United’s interest in Kansas City’s Gianluca Busio.

The information came directly from the club’s director of scouting in Europe, Edward Burleson, as he revealed he knew about the Old Trafford side keeping an eye on the 17-year-old.

The youngster has played a big part in the MLS side’s season, which has caught the attention of many clubs around the world, including that of a number of Serie A sides.

Burleson also revealed they had received an offer for Busio and Corriere dello Sport state that came from Fiorentina, who put €4m on the table only for them to be turned away.

The Italian newspaper name Milan, Juventus, Manchester United and Genoa as the other interested parties, while the player’s father, who originates from Brescia in Italy, is an Inter fan and is ‘pushing’ his son towards Antonio Conte’s side.

While Burleson felt it might take a year or two before Busio would leave Kansas City, Corriere reckon it’ll be sooner than that, as they reckon his future ‘will probably already be sorted’ before his 18th birthday on May 28th 2020.

A lot of competition for Manchester United, including a father who already has dreams on his son’s behalf, so convincing the 17-year-old could end up being tricky.
