Manchester United and Inter Milan are yet to find an agreement for Ashley Young, but a deal could be done by ‘early next week’.

That’s according to Gazzetta Dello Sport, who report that United are already planning for the left-back’s departure from the club.

Young has emerged as a target for Inter this month, with Antonio Conte keen on adding a new-left back to his squad.

The 34-year-old already has an agreement in place with the Serie A side, who are willing to give him a six-month contract that includes the option of an extension next year depending on how many games he plays.

There is no deal in place in terms of compensation with Manchester United, but it seems they are planning for Young to leave.

They have recalled defender Cameron Borthwick-Jackson from his loan at Tranmere Rovers, which in Italy is being taken as a signal United are ready to sanction Young’s departure.

According to Gazzetta, it means Manchester United are ‘taking note’ of Young’s desire to move to Inter, with him already turning down a one-year extension at Old Trafford.

The green light for the transfer is ‘in the air’ at this moment in time, but the ‘white smoke’, i.e. confirmation’ could come early next week, with things seemingly progressing.

While things are likely to be amicable between the two parties on this case, it seems United have being going head-to-head with Inter elsewhere.

According to another report from Gazzetta Dello Sport, United made a move to try and sign Arturo Vidal from Barcelona and that’s put them up against the Nerazzurri.

Antonio Conte is keen to add the midfielder to his squad and considers him a ‘number one goal’ for his midfield.

Manchester United wanted him too, though, and ‘probed the ground’ only for Vidal to turn down the move, as he only wants a return to Italy if he is to leave Barça.
