Manchester United were brought back into the mix for Sergej Milinković-Savić following their struggles to sign Barcelona’s Frenkie de Jong.
Four days ago, La Lazio Siamo Noi reported the 27-year-old’s case with the Red Devils is closely linked to the outcome of the De Jong saga.
Although the Dutchman is the priority target for Manchester United and their manager, Erik ten Hag, they have not let go of the Serie A star. At least that’s what Il Messaggero are reporting, relayed by Tutto Juve.
It’s said the Premier League club would be ‘ready to knock again’ on the Biancocelesti’s door for the Serbia international. Maurizio Sarri’s side, for their part, are asking for no less than €70m for their player.
Il Messaggero’s report has also been relayed by LazioNews24, who explain Ten Hag’s side ‘don’t lose sight’ of Milinković-Savić. They point out Manchester United could attempt to take the Serbian by offering €50m to the Italian club.
If the Old Trafford side were to make an offer of €50m to Lazio, then it will be up to their chairman, Claudio Lotito, to decide whether or not to accept it.
