For a long time, the future of Andreas Pereira had been said to be in Flamengo’s hands. It all seemed to depend on the club’s decision on whether to buy the midfielder from Manchester United or not.
With the Brazilian club not completing the deal and just one month left in his loan, it now seems like the player himself lost his patience and is keen on returning to Europe.
Those interesting claims are today brought by Yahoo Brasil.
There it’s said that Andreas did not like the lack of communication by Flamengo regarding his future so far, and since he’s been ‘armoured’ by the club, he couldn’t speak out on his situation either, resulting in an unsatisfaction.
The report from Diogo Dantas adds that there was ‘another kind’ of treatment from Manchester United.
That’s because he spoke to a ‘club director’ who told him he could be useful under Erik ten Hag, since he fits the profile they want for the squad.
Yahoo also claims that United told Andreas they do not wish to sell him, since Flamengo’s €10m offer wasn’t what they wanted, as the club only accepted the bid because it was his desire to make the move.
Now with the player changing his mind, he’s expected to be contacted by Ten Hag to listen to his plans soon.
On Monday evening, Pereira’s agent Giuliano Bertolucci was quoted saying the midfielder is returning to Europe, but now speaking to Yahoo, the representative did not confirm the player’s exit from Flamengo.
