Starting the last three games for Manchester United because of injury and ‘attitude’ problems affecting other players, Matteo Darmian is still needing to clarify his future to the press.

Barely used at the start of the season, the Italian full-back has certainly made his presence heard with decent performances, even out of position at left-back against Swansea on Sunday.

Called up against to the Italy national team for the coming games against Liechtenstein and Germany, the Manchester United defender was asked by Sky Sport in Italy, relayed by Calciomercato, if he was thinking about a move away from Old Trafford for January.

He said: “Have I been excluded (at Manchester United)? These are things that I read, but I don’t believe them to be true. I keep going, working to improve and making the manager’s job difficult. I’m not thinking about the transfer window, it’s still early.”

With Antonio Valencia’s return date from his arm injury still unknown, there is a big chance Darmian will get a few more chances to prove his worth to José Mourinho before January, and hopefully for the player, avoid being loaned/sold midway through the season.

So far, Darmian has only made five appearances for the Old Trafford contingent so far this season, being left out of the squad altogether nine times by the Portuguese manager.
