Manchester United are being linked with strikers as there’s no clarity over Edinson Cavani’s future at Old Trafford beyond this season.
Reports from Germany last week pointed out André Silva as being on the Red Devils’ target list.
The 25-year-old has been in fine form for Eintracht Frankfurt this season, scoring 23 goals and managing four assists in 27 league matches. However, his future will be away from the Bundesliga side.
Bild explain the Portugal international will ‘leave’ the club after this season, but it’s not clear where he will move next.
It’s claimed Borussia Dortmund are chasing the former AC Milan man, but they’ll only consider signing him if Erling Haaland leaves.
Should Dortmund decide not to move for Silva, another top European club would make an approach for him.
That’s when Manchester United get a mention as Bild add Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side and Atlético Madrid are ‘currently interested’ in the frontman. A move to Madrid will be difficult due to the Spanish club’s financial difficulties.
Silva has no release clause and Eintracht Frankfurt will ask around €40m to cut ties with him. The player’s agent, Hendrik Schauerte, isn’t concerned about the recent rumours.
“Of course, at this time of the season, the speculation will not decrease. We are not guided by that,” Schauerte told Bild.
“André is totally focused and wants to secure the Champions League place with Eintracht. As before, we are in close contact with Fredi Bobic and Oliver Frankenbach for all other issues.”
