AC Milan failed in their efforts to sign Nikola Milenković in the summer, but they are still interested in the Fiorentina player.

The defender’s contract with the Serie A side runs down in 2022, and according to Calciomercato.it, he has no plans to sign an extension with La Viola. He ‘dreams’ of joining a big Italian club or moving abroad.

Apart from Milan, their local rivals Inter Milan, Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur and Atlético Madrid are also chasing the centre-back.

Despite having a ‘draft agreement’ with the Rossoneri for ‘some time’, the Red Devils and Spurs, along with the La Liga side, have ‘come forward with determination and conviction, guaranteeing him an important contract’ in the last few months.

As per report, the Serbia international’s unwillingness to sign an extension forces the Serie A side to ‘lower the request’ for the 23-year-old’s sale, in order to avoid losing him for free in 2022.

The outlet are of the belief the player is set to be a ‘protagonist’ of the winter transfer market.

Fali Ramadani, the agent of Milenković, ‘will soon have a new conversation’ with Fiorentina chairman Rocco Commisso regarding his client.

Both United and the north London club were linked with a handful of central defenders in the last market, but only Spurs were able to sign a player in the position when they took Joe Rodon from Swansea City in October.
