Tottenham Hotspur showed Mauricio Pochettino the exit door in November 2019, just months after he guided Spurs to their first Champions League final in the club’s history.
He hasn’t returned to management, since losing his job at the north London club. However, the former Southampton boss is not short of admirers, if Sport are to be believed.
It’s claimed ‘many clubs have Pochettino in mind’, including Manchester United and Manchester City.
He’s been heavily linked with the Old Trafford job and the reports only increased when the Red Devils went through a rough patch under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
Things have since improved at United, after additions were made during January.
At Manchester City, Pep Guardiola is currently in charge and his contract at the Etihad runs down in 2021. The ex-Barcelona boss has reiterated his desire to continue at the club beyond this season.
The Catalan newspaper states the Premier League winners are looking at Pochettino post the Pep-era.
Apart from United and City, Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid, Juventus and Bayern Munich have the South American ‘in mind’.
Sport adds Pochettino, who is looking for a new job after Tottenham exit, has recharged his batteries.
It’s worth noting the article is from Guillem Balague, who is an excellent source when it comes to Mauricio Pochettino, and arguably the journalist closest to the manager.
The pair have worked together closely on a previous book, and on the marketing of it, with Balague clearly having a direct line to the manager.
Any appointment of Pochettino will likely have to wait until the summer, depending on the agreement he has with Tottenham.
