Manchester City’s bid for Antony hasn’t been forgotten by the Brazilian press, even though it’s been made months ago.
The São Paulo attacker has been chased by several European sides lately, and today, UOL reports RB Leipzig are keen on signing the player.
The German interest has been reported for a week, and only now have the local press found out the identity of Bundesliga club that wants the player.
It’s claimed Leipzig are willing to talk to São Paulo and pay up to €18m for the winger, and the Brazilian side should consider their financial problems when analysing the bid.
The problem is that São Paulo rejected a €20m offer from Manchester City for him in the summer. Now this new situation could convince them to accept less.
So it almost sounds like São Paulo are hoping Pep Guardiola’s side could repeat their bid for the youngster, even though there seems to be no signs the Premier League side are ready to do so.
