This week, Calciomercato reported Manchester City are in pole position to sign Fiorentina’s Dušan Vlahović.

He is now joined by Inter Milan star Lautaro Martínez in the Premier League winners’ target list.

That’s according to Inter Live, who say Pep Guardiola’s side have ‘enough time to look around until January and perhaps try to tickle Inter’s attention’ for the striker.

It’s claimed the English champions could offer a fee of around €90m to the Nerazzurri and a ‘mega contract’ worth €12m net to the player. The wages alone for a four-and-a-half-year deal would come around 54m net [90m gross], taking the overall cost to €180m.

The Argentina international, however, is close to signing a new deal at the San Siro. His agent, Alejandro Camano, admitted this week he is confident regarding his client’s renewal.

Martínez is set to sign a new five-year deal worth €6m per season and only the official confirmation is now missing. Despite the expected developments with the 24-year-old’s renewal, Inter Live suggest the Etihad club can ‘change the cards’.

The website further states: ‘Rejecting such a rich offer from City would be foolish, if only the bond of mutual trust that exists between the player and Inter Milan did not take over.’

Having already sold Achraf Hakimi and Romelu Lukaku in the summer, it is unlikely that Inter will allow Martínez to leave the club in January, especially if he signs a new deal in the coming days and weeks.
