After much deliberation, it appears that Bayern Munich are going to acquire Kingsley Coman on a permanent basis.

Loaned from Juventus for the past two seasons, the French forward is expected to be the subject of a €21m bid from the Bundesliga club, triggering the option to buy in his contract, yet that doesn’t mean he will stay there beyond this season.

Tuttosport on Thursday are the ones explaining the situation, and explain that even though Bayern will spend the money, they could ‘immediately’ sell him to Manchester City in England.

Pep Guardiola’s side have been linked heavily with the 21-year-old over the past few months, with plenty of reports in France claiming the Spaniard is keen for a reunion with the Juventus loanee after his successful season under his tutelage in Bavaria during the 2015/16 season.

Tuttosport explain Bayern Munich triggering the clause is practically ‘a given’, even if this season hasn’t exactly gone as planned for the youngster (two goals in 23 appearances).

The figures regarding a Manchester City transfer for Coman have been touted at around €50-60m, which would give the Bundesliga side an instant profit, having spent €28m overall on his services.

Chelsea are also said to be interested, mostly due to the fact Antonio Conte was the man in charge of Juventus when the Serie A club plucked the Frenchman from Paris Saint-Germain on a free in 2014, even if he left the club two weeks after his arrival.

Once the clause is triggered, we fully expect the articles about a Premier League move to double in numbers around Europe, such is the way things work in the transfer rumour mill.

Edit: An hour after this article was published, Bayern Munich announced the signing of Kingsley Coman on a three-year deal, exercising the buy-out clause in the Frenchman’s Juventus loan deal.
