Yesterday, when we covered a story from UOL saying the Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Fred has as verbal agreement to join Manchester City, we asked if the Ukrainian club would keep the same price as in the January window.

The report claimed the player came close to moving on a €35m deal last month, but his club ended up holding the deal for the summer.

Now more news about the transfer are coming from Brazil, but this time, with a different amount.

As reported by Goal Brasil this Friday, Manchester City have the deal with Shakhtar ‘forwarded’, as the midfielder should be bought for around €50m.

There’s alrleady an agreement between the clubs, even though the move would only be made official when the transfer window opens again.

Goal confirms the transfer came close to happening in January, but Shakhtar demanded Fred to stay until the summer. Now that the transfer is agreed, they can start looking for replacements.
