Now with the Portuguese national team squad, Manchester City star Bernardo Silva has given a press conference on Monday.

The 24-year-old has spoken to the local press about the preparations for the game against Italy, which will be played next Tuesday.

As the Portuguese outlets couldn’t miss the opportunity for a clickbait, O Jogo picked a headline saying ‘Bernardo reacts to Guardiola’s words and admits: Cristiano is always missed’.

Actually, what the player was asked was about Guardiola’ quotes saying he would have Bernardo plus 10 other players in his team. The midfielder didn’t even want to mention his boss in the answer.

“I feel that I will do my best to help the national team. There are 24 called-up and everyone goes to work to help and give their best. I’m one more to make my contribution.”

On the absence of the Juventus star Cristiano Ronaldo, Bernardo said: “I think Cristiano, when he is out, is always missed. A player like Cristiano, who is our captain and having the importance he has, he’s always missed.

“It is normal, but those who are here have immense quality and will try to respond in the best way and try to win the games.”

And as the Portuguese national team has so many wingers, Bernardo was asked if he can play in other positions in midfield: “I did my formation almost all in the middle, but at Monaco I started to play more on the right than in the middle and at City as well, I play in the position that the manager thinks is better, I am available for any position and to make my contribution.”
