Although the Brazilian press continues to bring optimistic updates on Manchester City’s pursue for Grêmio youngster Diego Rosa, the latest news isn’t so exciting.
Outlet Zero Hora has a report today claiming that instead of going directly to Pep Guardiola’s side, the midfielder is actually being loaned out.
It’s said he will be joining Belgian side Lommel, who also belong to the City Football Group. The management want him to have a development there before he moves to England.
Most outlets in Brazil say the deal should cost Manchester City around €10m, but Zero Hora stick to their information. They say there’s an initial payment of €5m, and some clauses could make it raise to €9m.
The report writes that Grêmio weren’t interested in selling their starlet for so little, but since they’re having trouble renewing Diego Rosa’s contract, which expires next year, then the club are feeling forced to let him go now rather than see him leave for free a bit later.
