Back in November, there was a small flurry of articles surrounding Sandro Tonali, Brescia’s young midfielder.
The 18-year-old, who broke into the first-team full-time this season, was heavily linked with both Chelsea and Napoli, which we speculated might have had something to do with Maurizio Sarri.
That being said, after the Serie B side’s owner started asking for €35m+, the story died down rather quickly, but that doesn’t mean teams have forgotten about him, far from it, as new ones, like Manchester City, have joined the party.
This comes from Gazzetta dello Sport on Wednesday, who claim Pep Guardiola’s side presented themselves with ‘important emissaries’, although their purpose for the trip isn’t revealed.
Either they mean they sent their best scouts or they came knocking at the door for a chat about a potential offer, which has yet to appear.
Despite this, Manchester City aren’t included in Gazzetta’s pie chart used to describe where Tonali could end up next season, with both Inter and Juventus on 40%, while Chelsea and Milan sit some way behind on 10% each.
