Manchester City are reportedly one of the clubs who are interested in the signing of Sporting youngster Saná Fernandes.
As reported by O Jogo, the Lions could not convince the teenager to stay at the club.
They realised that with many offers from other sides, they would not get to a deal and even removed them from the squad in the last games of the season.
Now the 16-year-old is set to join a new club this summer, and as written by the newspaper, Barcelona and Manchester City are those who currently lead the race.
O Jogo says those clubs are ahead because of the conditions they offer Fernandes, even though his future is not sealed yet.
The report points out it was a big blow for Sporting to miss out on the teenager, since he had been an important player at their youth ranks, and would certainly be sold for a good fee had he stayed there.
Since no money needs to be paid to the Lisbon side, it seems like a matter of which club will put the better arguments on the table now.
With Manchester City not lacking resources, they’re certainly one of the main contenders for the signing.
