Joining the City Football Group, ESTAC Troyes in France are reaping the benefits of being so closely associated to Manchester City these days,
Loaning Issa Kaboré from Pep Guardiola’s side for the season, as well as being gifted Metinho from Fluminense, the club are on the verge of getting a new defender from the Premier League champions.
Still looking for a centre-back on the last day of the transfer window, the promoted Ligue 1 side will receive Philippe Sandler from Manchester City.
That’s according to Foot Mercato, who report the player ‘will join’ Troyes, but it’s not made clear whether it’s a loan or a permanent transfer.
However, considering the player’s contract at the Etihad expires in 2022, it could very well be that Manchester City are simply letting him transfer to their sister club, knowing full well they can keep tabs on him and buy him back if he fulfils the potential they initially bought him for.
Capable of playing in front of the defence or as a part of it, the player ‘will try to relaunch himself’ with the French club.
