It’s hard to keep up with all the stories surrounding Manchester City’s potential signings this summer ever since they were cleared by CAS to play in the Champions League.
The Premier League club need to address a number of positions in the coming months, and rumours suggest Pep Guardiola would like a midfielder.
More specifically, he wants Ismaël Bennacer, currently contracted to Milan in Serie A.
The Algeria international is happy where he is, but Guardiola appears to have made it a personal mission to convince him to move to the Etihad, with previous reports claiming he had called him to explain his project to him.
If that wasn’t enough, Riyad Mahrez is also at it, according to Le10 Sport on Tuesday, who report the former Leicester City star is ‘doing his best to convince his compatriot to come’.
Paris Saint-Germain are also on the case, having reportedly made two offers, one of €30m and the other reaching €40m, with both being rejected by the Serie A club.
With that in mind, Le10 say ‘it’s hard to see this concluded for less than €50m’.
A lot of money, but if Guardiola thinks he’s worth it, then Manchester City will probably pay up.
