Earlier today, we published a story about Uriel Antuna’s first few months as a player for the Mexico national team, getting impressive statistics since his debut in June.
The Manchester City loanee has been getting all the attention in his home country, since Chivas Guadalajara have been in talks to sign him.
Antuna is currently on a loan spell at LA Galaxy, who are not sure they can keep him in MLS for next year.
And when speaking to the Mexican press last night, Antuna has not only confirmed the talks with Chivas, but also said he’s looking for a good club to sign for.
“I hope to go to a good team. I have many things to think about, talk with my family. Yes, there is always contact with several teams,” Antuna told TUDN (via AS).
Antuna had already confirmed the talks last week, when he revealed he’s been in touch with Chivas director Ricardo Perez.
“We talked a little with him. He told me about the project. I like the idea of returning Chivas to where they should be, it’s a good opportunity, but you have to put it in the balance. I have to talk to my family, my representative, to know what do.”
The striker’s contract with Manchester City runs until 2022, and the Mexican press has been saying that he should be sold for at least US$10m.
That figure is starting to look like a potential bargain.
