The Portuguese media continues to be quite confident that not only Sporting wants to keep Pedro Porro from Manchester City, but the player wishes for the transfer as well.
A story from newspaper O Jogo takes claims from the Spanish press which said the likes of Celta de Vigo and Sevilla would be interested in signing the full-back.
The outlet, however, makes it clear that Porro’s preference is to stay with the Lions on a permanent transfer from Manchester City, who have loaned him to the Lisbon side until 2022.
Porro has 32 appearances for Sporting this season, and his good form in Portugal was rewarded with his first call up for the Spanish national team last month.
Since Sporting have a buying option to get Porro from Manchester City for only €8m, the Portuguese media expects the clause to soon be triggered.
Now, as Pep Guardiola’s side are said to be interested in Lions’ left-back Nuno Mendes, recent rumours have also been saying that the clubs could end up finding an agreement for a swap between the players, with the Premier League using Porro to get a discount when signing the 18-year-old.
Either way, it looks quite unlikely that the Spaniard would move to any other club other than Sporting in the coming months.
