Portuguese newspaper Record brings today some details on the future of Manchester City right-back Pedro Porro.
Following his loan spell at Real Sociedad, the 20-year-old is set to be back at the Premier League side, where he knows he won’t be used by Pep Guardiola.
That’s why there’s a race for his signing this summer, and according to the report, there are Sporting, Real Betis and a German club fighting for him for now.
Record says that the Lions are leading the race as they have Porro’s preference. The player sees the club as a good option, first because they have a place in the Europa League, and second because of their tactical system.
It’s claimed Sporting would have no problems in affording the loan deal, as long as Manchester City continue to pay part of the player’s wages, just like they did during his spell at Real Valladolid.
Record says this transfer is still in a ‘stage of analysis’, but if it ends up ‘depending on the player’s will’, he’s making the move to Sporting.
