It had been a few weeks since we last saw reports about a bid from the City Group for a South American youngster, but the rumours are back now.
It’s time for the Argentine media to say there’s an offer for Estudiantes wonderkid Darío Sarmiento.
El Dia is one of the outlets reporting the bid, always referring to the buyers as the ‘Manchester City owners’.
They say there’s a confidentiality clause which doesn’t allow the Argentine side to reveal the numbers.
It’s claimed Estudiantes changed a few terms and sent the City Group a counter-offer. They’re now waiting for a response.
Meanwhile, Diário Hoy brings a few more details about the bid.
They claim to know that the offer is of US$10m for the 17-year-old.
It’s said Estudiantes’ intention is to have the percentage of a future move and keep him until June or December 2021.
It’s still not clear if it’s Manchester City who are interested in the winger, although the heavy investment suggests it very well could be.
