Believe it or not, Manchester City are reportedly about to spend more money on a fullback.
After paying over €130m for Danilo, Kylie Walker and Benjamin Mendy this transfer window, Pep Guardiola could now reach the €150m mark as the club are said to be chasing Aaron Martin Caricol from Espanyol.
Catalan outlet Sport claims Manchester City are offering €20m for the 20-year-old, and the clubs are currently in negotiations.
Despite his young age, Caricol is currently Espanyol’s first option for the left-back position, and as mentioned in the story, even Real Madrid were interested in signing him at one stage.
Aaron has recently signed a new contract which runs until 2022, and has a release clause of €30m until next summer. After June 30th 2018, it will be raised to €40m.
Sport claims that Manchester City have been following the player for months, and Guardiola’s idea would be for him to fight for a position with Mendy.
