Barcelona youngster Gavi has ended up in the sights of Manchester City.
The 18-year-old has been a regular for the La Liga side since he was promoted to the first team in August 2021.
Gavi’s performances for the Catalan club have caught Manchester City’s attention and they would be interested in securing his services in the summer, according to Fichajes.net.
They state the Spain international would ‘fit perfectly’ into Pep Guardiola’s style of football at the Etihad.
The Premier League winners are aware that Xavi Hernández is an admirer of Bernardo Silva. They would be interested in letting him leave for a lower fee or carrying out a direct exchange with the Blaugrana, if Gavi is included as part of the deal.
It’s said Manchester City have a ‘proposal in hand’, but there’s nothing official yet. There is a possibility of Guardiola’s side approaching Barcelona in the ‘short term’ to see if they are willing to carry out an exchange deal involving the Spaniard and Silva.
Fichajes.net have not taken into account the off-field issues around Gavi’s registration. La Liga had rejected the teenager’s registration and Marca had earlier explained there is a possibility for him to leave the Camp Nou for free in the summer, although that seems unlikely.
